While we may not be able to attend events in person at the moment, we are so grateful to the Team CF community for coming together virtually and making a difference for people with cystic fibrosis. Join the Team CF Facebook page to share pictures, receive training tips from our Personal Trainer Graeme and meet other runners taking part in this challenge.
Every member of Team CF has an inspiring story that motivated them to run.
Adam is motivated to run by his wife Jackie, who has CF and moved out of their home while she was shielding so he could continue working as a police officer.
“The only hobby I had (like so many people) was running. Fundraising for these virtual events has kept me motivated and given me a reason to keep lacing up. I ran a marathon on my own on the day the Manchester Marathon was scheduled. I get more sponsors each time I do another run and I have gone well past my original fundraising target.”
Craig has CF and completed his challenge of running 100km in the month of September.
“Shielding had taken its toll; virtual runs were what I needed to focus on to stay on top of my physical health and improve my mental health. Running for Team CF means a lot me to as I feel that I’m not only doing this as part of a team but as part of a community. It makes me push that little bit more and I don’t feel like I’m doing this on my own.”
Make a difference
Thanks to your support, since the launch of our emergency appeal, we have made 540 emergency grants to people with CF and their families, and we are continuing to experience a very high demand for help. Run a 5k, 10k, half or full marathon in the Team CF Running Festival this September and help us reach every person with CF and their family when they need us most.
