September issue mailing problems

Under data protection rules, the Trust is able to send ‘marketing communications’ by post to you if you have supported us recently. This could include sending information about our work, fundraising opportunities, developments in CF, etc, such as CF Life magazine. We will not contact you by mail this way if you tell us you do not want to hear from us by post, or if you are a member of the Fundraising Preference Service.

Unfortunately however, due to an IT issue, the latest (September) version of CF Life magazine was accidentally posted out to a number of people who had told us they didn’t want to receive mail from us.

The Trust has now identified and resolved the IT system issue which led to this error, and we have put in place a range of new measures to prevent this from happening again. We are also undertaking a full review of our mailing processes, and intend to highlight any findings to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We sincerely apologise for our error, and for failing to respect your wishes on this. We considered whether or not to write to everyone affected to apologise, but opted not to do so, in order to avoid intruding on your privacy any further.
